Espacio Rojo (ER) is an independent, international non-profit arts-based interdisciplinary established in 2004, that supports social practices, and artistic creation in all its facets through participatory design workshops and community processes, fellowships, residencies, exhibitions, and publications.
ER was founded on the principle of providing a platform for diverse actors engaged in art, education, social awareness, and cultural production together to improve and build a better society. Workshops are designed around topics that are relevant to the specific locale and open to multiple horizons of transdisciplinary and transnational inquiry.
The pedagogical approach emphasizes dialogue and exchange, horizontality and experimentation, and intensive, structured time spent together alongside open spaces for individual and collaborative work. ER (since 2006) is an entity for experiments in the arts, technology, and research methodologies, and creating & organizing and design arts-based and educational workshops and programs for socially vulnerable people (all ages) and training the trainer’s programs for educators, artists, therapists, NGO staff, volunteers as well as thematic conferences and seminars in Spain and other European countries.
